More copyright troubles: Loser sued, and loses, for stealing artist’s work and selling as his own. What was that you were saying, idiots?

Copyright infringement = illegal. THUGS & MORONS = stupid.

Oh yeah, that’s right, THUGS & MORONS commenting on this blog kept making preposterous claims:

“You can’t prevent anyone from standing in the same spot and taking the same photo”

“Marc can’t stop anyone from copying his images”

Oh, of course, they are also making a bunch of threats to kill us, “piss on our graves” and other assorted promises.

Anyway, if you THUGS want an entertaining lesson, just Google “Patrick Cariou vs. Richard Prince”. This should be an interesting lesson to the THUGS & MORONS. And yes, there will no doubt be the cretin who keeps commenting on this blog, essentially postulating that they can steal anyone’s compositions, and there’s nothing that can be done.

But let’s face it. The only reason that THUGS & MORONS can steal Marc’s images is that Marc Adamus is a coward who won’t protect his own images. Those images won’t protect themselves, you know. And most other photographers are too busy creating photographs to realize that there’s scum out there like Miles Morgan, Chris Moore MD, Kevin Pieper MD, and others, who shamelessly steal the work of others and pretend it’s their own.

And while Marc might be too much of a coward, Loserphotographers.com isn’t. We’re glad to show the world what cowers and hides in the shadows of the photography world.

  1. I love this blog.

  2. Original photos were used; that's why the law suit. I don't see your thugs using original photos. They're all shooting their own shots from popular locations. This law suit doesn't remotely resemble your cause.

  3. Let me make one thing clear: I do not try to defend any of the people you mention here with this comment; I just try to point out that the sentence you mention has nothing to do with "stealing a composition".

I read here (http://www.artnet.com/magazineus/features/finch/richard-prince-copyright-3-21-11.asp) about the case you mention. As far as I understand it, Prince has been found guilty of using pictures of Cariou in an appropriate way and without explicit permission of Cariou. That is of course a copyright infringement. But standing on the same spot as another photographer and taking a similar picture than his/hers (what I do not say it is ok)... I am not so sure if that is copyright infringement. That is, you cannot make a copy of a print, but by taking the same picture you are not copying a print, you are copying a composition, a vision, an idea, and an idea cannot be copyrighted (see here www.copyright.gov).

  4. The expression of an idea can be copyrighted. That's what is in question here.

  6. I suggest stopping the "question" and learn the facts. It's hard for people to take you serious when you're postings lack facts. Facts make a leader. Complaining like you repeatedly do is the root characteristic of a follower, a loser in my circle. ...a little advice: It's hard to take a blog serious when there's so much child play and immature sexual comments, complaining, crying. During a trial in a court of law the defense would rip you apart. There's nothing professional about how you direct your cause. Again, it's simply hard to take you seriously. You obviously lack the reference points to make a strong case via facts and professionalism. I know your type; I deal with it often. If you want to be taken seriously then get yourself to the courthouse, file some papers and make a real difference.

  7. @ Anonymous: Good point but I think you're wasting your time on this one. If you read through his blogs and replies he's much easier to profile than most people for reasons I'm sure obvious to you and me. This person is driven by revenge (I know you're thinking, "DUH"), lacks a sense of self worth but is introverted (a volatile combo) and lacks the capacity for rational thought. Without professional help this person will escalate until somebody gets hurt. So, yes, I think you're wasting your time telling this person to make a real difference by taking on the effort to change copyright laws. This person would, without a doubt, rather harm others out of vengeance than change laws. It's terroristic in nature but this is most likely the highest extent of behavior his intellect can attain. Sorry, but don't you think it obvious?

  8. Ditto this last comment. Step it up. Act like an adult. Keep it clean and maybe you stand a chance of winning your points. Just throwing these snowballs and letting them fall apart is not going to accomplish anything. More importantly why waste the time on something so negative? Your a creative blogger and there are better ways to win people's attention. BTW - never in the history of photography has someone owned a copyright for a location. This seems to be your base to this whole episode. Since you seem to the self claimed expert on this. Let me know how it works. I have some spots I have photographed that I would like to be the first to copyright, hehe.

  9. I am a mental health professional (of over 20 years in two countries) and the person who writes this blog is seriously ill but does not seem to care, obviously thriving on the attention they get once in a while (mainly negative). I could say a lot more about the person but the bottom line is that they really are suffering in their own sickness (in a sort of sad and pathetic way). It is sad because help is available these days but you have to take responsibility. Everyone has issues to work through and to waste your life in such things garbage as this...
